The   Cashmere   Historic   Museum   was   opened   in 1958   and   it   is   divided   into   two   parts.   There   is the   museum   and   the   pioneer   village,   a   living history    museum.    In    the    museum    there    are shown    real    artifacts    of    the    Native    Americans and    the    first    settlers.    You    can    see    how    the Native     Americans     hunted,     what     arms     they used,    their    land,    their    jewelry,    their    clothes, maps    and    pictures    of    real    Native    Americans who     lived     there. The     pioneer     village     is     an authentic   copy   of   a   little   village   with   a   few   huts the    pioneers    had    built    to    live    in.    There    are twenty   houses   and   you   can   see   different   cabins and   shops   from   the   time   of   the   settlers.   The cabins   are   like   real   exsisting   houses,   but   you are   not   allowed   to   go   in.   If   you   want,   you   can get   an   audio   guide   for   the   museum   and   the village. I   liked   the   museum.   It   was   not   very   impressive   but   there   were   interesting facts   about   the   Native   Americans   and   I   learned   a   lot.   But   I   think   without any   previous   historic   knowledge   or   a   guide   who   can   explain   it   to   you (your   exchange   partner),   it   is   hard   to   understand   the   information.   The informative   texts   are   hard   to   read   just   with   "School   English".   Still,   it   is nice   to   look   at.   In   my   opinion   the   village   is   more   interesting   because   you feel    like    you    are    part    of    people's    life    at    that    time.      For      example,     I   s a w a     barber      shop,     a     school      and      a     jail      as      they   looked   when   the settlers   built   them.   Unfortunately,   it   is   not   possible   to   walk   into   the   huts or to touch the artifacts, but you can take a lot of pictures. Altogether,   I   spent   one   and   a   half   hours   there,   but   I   think   if   you   take   an audio   guide,   it   will   take   longer.   I   really   liked   the   different   things   to   see, things   about   the   Native   Americans,   the   settlers   and   pioneers,   animals which   lived   at   that   time   and   the   real   photographs.   That   was   interesting. Sometimes   the   many   different   things   confused   me   and   I   was   not   sure   if the   thing   I   was   looking   at   was   from   1400,   1700   or   1940.   I   think   without my   exchange   partner   I   would   have   been   lost.   All   in   all,   it   is   interesting, but   after   a   time,   especially   the   museum   is   boring   because   you   can`t touch   anything   and   the   informative   texts   are   difficult.   The   sight   is   good for    everybody    who    is    interested    in    Native    American    history    and    the history of the settlers. And, you should be able to speak some English.
! M y tip:
In   my   opinion   you   should   walk   through   the   gift   shop   in   the   entrance   hall   if   you have    liked    the    museum    because    there    are    many    beautiful    and    interesting souvenirs and pretty postcards.
