Description
The
40
acres
of
land
that
are
now
the
Ohme
Gardens
were
bought
by
Herman
Ohme
in
1929
with
the
purpose
of
being
an
orchard.
But
after
realizing
that
the
hilly
landscape
couldn’t
be
used
for

decided
to
use
the
land
to
create
their
own
residence
on
it.
The
eyes
of
the
public
soon
lay
on
the
beautiful
area
around
their
home.
After
noticing
this,
Ohme
began
to
charge
admission
for
a
walk
in
the
park.
These
grew
to
be
the
gardens
we
know
now,
which
are
public
property.
Our Experience
The
rain
was
like
a
cold
shower.
We
waited
at
the
entrance
to
the
Ohme
Gardens
to
finally
be
let
in.
They
each
gave
us
a
map
of
the
park.On
the
map
it
looked
huge,
but
in
reality
it
was
much
smaller.As
we
continued
into
the
gardens.
We
were
impressed
at
the
sight
of
the
colored
trees
and
the
pure
nature.
We
could
only
imagine
how
beautiful
it
would
look
in
the
summer.
The
whole
GAPP
group
unanimously
decided
to
go
to
the
"Hidden
Pool".
After
that
we
unexpectedly
found
a
wooden
hut.
One
of
us
made
it
her
quest
to
find
"the
Diamond",
a
spot
marked
on
the
map.
She
went
along
with
three
other
GAPPsters.
Wandering
through
the
woods
we
felt
at
peace
and
let
our
mind
roam
freely.
As
we
stood
in
front
of
the
exit,
emotionally
not
ready
to
leave
and
not
come
back
for
a
long
while,
we
fantasized
about
what
it
would
be
like
to
marry
in
the
Ohme
Gardens,
wearing
a
red
dress
and
standing
in
the
blinding
white,
sparkling
snow.The
picture
we
painted
in
our
minds
was
heavenly
and
magical and we were ready to part with the greens.
Bottom Line
We
were
there
for
1
1/2
hours
and
visited
various
spots
in
the
gardens,
e.g.
the
"Waterfall"
and
the
"Wishing
Well".
Ohme
Gardens
is
for
kids
from
11,
as
children
may
get
bored
with
walking
through
a
park
in
the
beautiful
silence,
but
for
us
it
was
awesome,
because
we
were
there
with
friends
and
had
a
terrific
experience (even though it was chilly).
