Facts: Pike   Place   Market   is   located   in   Seattle   in the   northwest   corner   of   Seattle’s   central business    district.    Pike    Place    Market    is famous    for    its    big    fish    and    vegetable stalls,   but   you   can   buy   nearly   everything there.    From    books    to    CDs    to    souvenirs. Before    the    market    was    built    in    1907 local    Seattle    area    farmers    sold    their goods   there.   In   1907   a   council   ordinance vote made Pike Place a market. Personal experience: After   we   arrived   in   Seattle   and   took   our   luggage   to our   hostel   we   went   to   Pike   Place   Market   and   the first   impression   was   just   amazing.   The   market   was crowded    and    it    was    a    bit    of    a    strange    feeling standing   in   a   chaotic   crowd   of   people   with   those crazy   funny   stalls   in   the   financial   district   with   all   its glossy   skyscrapers.   It   was   a   great   possibility   to   get souvenirs    you    wouldn’t    get    anywhere    else.    The main   part   of   the   market,   the   top   level,   is   where   the typical   fish   stalls   with   the   people   throwing   fish   are. That’s    the    crowded    part.    When    we    went    to    the lower   levels   with   little   book   shops   etc.,   we   only   met a   few   people.   Maybe   this   was   because   many   shops were   closed   when   we   were   there.   We   were   there   a second   time,   too,   but   still   discovered   new   parts   and shops.   s to look at each one.
! M y tip: Plan t o t a y there a long time because you will find so many shops, you will want
